Yacht with Ammunition and Fireworks Inside Goes Up in Flames in Marina del Rey

Firefighters battled a blaze aboard a 110-foot yacht that erupted in Marina del Rey on Thursday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 12:40 p.m. on the "My Way" yacht, which was docked at the Burton Chase Park Marina, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews arrived to find the vessel fully engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing into the air.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze after about an hour and a half, but not before it caused extensive damage to the yacht.

No injuries were reported, but the boat was destroyed.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. No arrests had been made as of Thursday evening, the police said.
